Several things can trigger this behavior, including:

• Adding an instance to the cluster.
  Taking in a bunch of data.
  Restarting elasticsearch on an instance.
  Corrupt data in an instance.

And many more - I wouldn't be concerned unless you have a 'red' cluster state, or your cluster never returns to green.
