Thanks - but this is just getting to be a little too overwhelming. I am thinking of just starting from scratch again and really trying to learn....

That's a great idea, but @Rk's script will generate a great host-only monitoring solution for you in the meantime.

@eloyd is right - something is better than nothing! :)

With my instructions, I have you create a whole new directory. You can always remove config files out of there, or even disable Nagios from checking that directory for config files if you'd like.
