More info.

RHEL6 x64

Clean install on new system with base RHEL6 packages.


HTTP Proxy requires no credentials.

Installed the proxy.zip through the web interface.
Ran the patch.sh script.
Entered the ip address of the proxy ex. 192.168.1.5
Entered the port: 8080
Clicked "Update Settings"

This patch script was to get up to 1.8

If this was a clean install, I would think you are running 1.9 the undo_patch.sh should return you to 1.9 as it was.

That is true. It will revert changes. The issue is that my eval system is behind an http proxy that does not require credentials. I am not sure if the proxy addon does not work because I don't have credentials, or if it is because of a change from 1.8 to 1.9 . So there is no way to test the update feature before making a decision on purchasing xi.

You should be able to install the proxy component from this post without the patch

I don't know why but under some of my Nagios XI i had to run this script :

cd /usr/local/nagiosxi/tools
./fix_postgres_sequences.sh

before to have this component working properly ...

This can happen if the index for the postgres gets out of sequence.

Can you use the proxy component sucessfully after running this?

No. I have the same issue. Any other options?

Thank You, but the wiki did not help. I am going to do another fresh install.

Questions:
What version of RHEL should I use? 5, 6? x86, x64?

What dependencies should I install first?
(I could not find any info on this in anywhere on the site.)

for sure you MUST install your RH in basic mode without any others components and without Gnome ... i tried and had lot of problems ... but why don't you want to use Centos distribution ?
