Try logging in to the Core interface and see if the status matches with the emails.
Use this link, replacing xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx with the valid IP address of the server and the nagiosadmin user account to login.

We had a old Nagios server, with the same hostname, that was accidentally started this weekend and that's where the emails were coming from.

My fault. Sorry again for the time and effort you guys put in.
