You said you only have command line access. Have you logged into the webUI at all? What happens if you go to the Nagios machine in a web browser? Can you send us a screenshot of that?
It's still not clear to me whether you are using XI (https://www.nagios.com/products/nagios-xi/), Core (https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... 2.4.tar.gz), or Logserver (https://www.nagios.com/products/nagios-log-server/).
We need to figure that out before moving forward.
