boot from HD
installation
rescue system
check installation media
firmware test
memory test.

You must have a cd image mounted. Choose boot from hd.

Ok. Reboot the vm once again, when it gets to the point it hangs, screenshot the vm console and post it here.

It seems like this is a vmware issue. Check out this article and see if it is going to help. If you are still having issues, tomorrow we could schedule a remote session to troubleshoot this further. Unfortunately, today we are working remotely, due to the extremely cold weather in Minnesota, so we cannot schedule a remote session for today.

You were completely right! It was a VMware issue. For whatever reason it didn't like the host and cluster it was residing on, but once I moved it it's back up and running. :D
There is a sql error on the Host Group status though. Do I need to restart the sql service?
