What do you mean with
What do the different formats look like?
What I mean to ask is what kind of conversions specifically are we looking to do here?

Mutate/gsub should work if you're interested in changing the value of a matching field to different value.
It did not really gave any confirmation it was installed or anything..
There isn't a verification message - when you run the command it will process for a minute and then complete. When it's completed, you will have access to the experimental/contributed logstash plugins.
