I've also seen an issue where the upgrade fails because there is no snmptt user added to the system. If this happens, just add the user:
and rerun the upgrade. The issue should be fixed in the next release of Nagios XI. It may not fail on your system for this reason - I am just giving you heads up in case this happens. Let us know how it went.

it did fail due to that earlier, that has been added along with the appropriate permissions.
adduser snmptt
usermod -a -G nagcmd snmptt
usermod -a -G nagios snmptt

okay, it said it completed that time
Checking for existing snmptt.conf file
No existing snmptt.conf.nxti file was found, or the file was empty
Adding snmptt.conf.nxti to snmptt.ini
Changing permissions for snmptt.conf
Editing snmptt.ini
Creating a test file for NXTI Test Events to write to
Restarting snmptt
Stopping snmptt: [ OK ]
Starting snmptt: [ OK ]
Restarting snmptrapd
Nagios XI Upgrade Complete!

okay, i think we are good, it says i am at 5.6.3 finally

Anything i should check, just to make sure all is well? since i did run the upgrade about 10 times

You are probably fine - running the upgrade script multiple times wouldn't hurt anything. We don't need the profile, unless you notice an issue, and we need to troubleshoot it.
