Why do you suppose that new worker server has so many servers, is it the one with the biggest load?

If we're down to 2 orphaned hosts, can you spot anything out of the ordinary at this point with those hosts? Additionally, how is your return code 25 problem now?

Can you post a screenshot of your Monitoring Engine Performance?

orphans are now like 7. like I said before, it goes up and down the number of orphans

I am still having problems with "return code of 25 is out bound". I still don;t know if this is related with the orphan issue

and I continue to see devices that have not been check in more than 30 minutes

I think it's high time we move this to a ticket. Please email [email protected] with the subject "Host check orphaned" and a link to this thread, with a short description of the current state of the problem (for reference purposes).

with the recent changes made since last night, I have not seen any orphan this morning. I will continue to monitor nagios over the weekend.
