Nagios Support Forum

Hey all,
I'm interested in using nagios to monitor over 750 windows servers (that have SQL, IIS, and other applications). We also add about 50 servers a year to this as well.

So I am looking for an easier way to create these hosts... I have a host that I have setup that has all the settings correctly working (correct hostgroup, contact group.. ect). so I was hoping to use that host as the default and copy these settings to the 750 clients.
Anyone know of a script that creates host.cfg files from a template or something similar?

We don't have an official script for a process like this right now, but I might imagine that you could find something that meets your needs on http://exchange.nagios.org. If it exists in a publicly available format, that's probably where you could find it. You could create your configuration files and then import them into XI if something like that exists.
