Waiting for configuration verification

I've had some issues with hosts and services and had to delete everything via the CCM and then write the config files. I finally got them deleted but now I cant seem to sync my config with XI. Every time I try to apply the configuration, I get "Waiting for configuration verification.............." and it never completes. I've also found NPCD seems to quit and I have to restart manually. Any ideas on either of these? I'm just trying to get it back to a consistent state so I can continue with my test.

This also is preventing me from adding any new hosts as it gets stuck in the same position when it tries to apply the config.

After deleting everything and using the write config tool, do you get any error output from the Write Config Tool->Verify command? If the verification hangs up, where do you see it stopping?

The verification works just fine but it still doesn't write. It seems like every time i have to change something, i have to reboot the server for it to take effect. It doesn't seem to sync up. Any thoughts?

The Nagios process has to restart in order for a change to take effect. First it verifies the config, then restarts the process. I need to clarify a bit to narrow down the issue.
When using the write-config tool, do you get any error messages in any of these steps? (do them in this order)
Write Monitoring Data
Write Additional Data
Check Configuration Files
Restart Nagios

It won't let me restart Nagios from there because it says that the Nagios daemon isn't running.
I get this error.
Nagios daemon is not running, cannot send restart command!
I've checked and see the .lock file but it's not registering.

Yeah, that sometimes shows up and is a known bug that should be fixed in the next release. After writing the config files go to the Admin page and restart the Nagios monitoring engine from there.
