hi,
we configured routers and checking availability report for our customer.
while getting this report we get both host data as well as service data. but host data and service data giving availability of router only with some difference in percentage.
for ex : attached screen shot gives you the host availability of router and ping service for the router.
so , here we dont require availability in two places .
pls suggest to get the host availabilty report alone

The difference in results can be explained with the fact that the checks are run at different times, hence the results are similar but not identical. Currently, there is no way to display a host only pie-chart in the availability report. You can post a feature request on our bug tracker here:
http://tracker.nagios.com
Other option is to delete the ping service if you don't need it (the host check is also a ping check) , and leave the host check only. This way, you would see only the host pie-chart under the availability reports.

Currently, the availability report includes any specified hosts and their respective services. Decoupling these two metrics for the report would be a feature request.

After removing the ping service for the host from the configure menu , still its reflecting in the report.
Please find the attached document for your reference.
Please suggest..
Note: KDCCB-BO-ADKUR-RTR is the hostname we are looking for a change

To quote abrist, the availability report will always show both host and service output. You have two main options, create your own report via a dashboard or view, or you can contact
[email protected] and discuss a custom report that only includes either host or service data.
As for your particular document, it certainly appears that you have not removed the service. It is showing in CCM and throughout the service status page. You will need to remove and apply configuration for it to be correctly displayed. If you have any errors along the way those will also need to be resolved.

hi,
in ccm you may find services for link alone... i attached doc with specific hostname ends with RTR.
i removed the services for this particular host from CCM and i applied configuration.
i had a call with sales team of nagios. he replied it is possible in nagios to remove the service for the host and it will not reflect in service data while pulling availability report for this particular host.
based on this suggestion i tried removing the ping service for the host which i send earlier in the doc. still its reflecting in report.
could you pls confirm its possible (or) it will comes under custom developement.

I believe what is actually happening, especially for availability reports is that, the reporting function searches through the nagios historical data. Removing a service or check does not remove this data. So you are getting this because the data still exists. You can certainly remove historical data, however that will cause many discrepencies in how this and other services show data. Otherwise unfortunately I do believe this would be some minor custom work to allow removal or specifiy which checks you only wish to see in a report.
