New hosts, old services

Hi,
I'm trying to add a bunch of new hosts and apply services to them.
Most of the services I already have existing with the current configuration.
How do I go about adding these service checks on the new hosts without manually adding the hosts on each service configuration?
Can I group these services together and then apply them to a host?
Thanks.

If you need to add a service to a bunch of hosts, you can actually add it to a hostgroup. This way, the service would be added to each member of the hostgroup. As you add new members to this hostgroup, the service would be added to them automatically.

Thanks.
My problem is that there are many service configurations and going through them manually will be a pain.
I would have thought Service Groups would group services together and then I could assign a service group to a host group or even an individual host, but I couldn't find this option.
BTW,
What's the difference between:
1. going to a host config and adding it to a hostgroup
2. going to a hostgroup and adding a host to it
It seems that they are two different lists??

The service groups are applied to templates, which are in turn applied to hostgroups.
The difference between the two options of hosts --> hostgroups and vice versa is that the object correlations are different, and are stored differently in the database. It was a nagiosql design decision, though I feel that our UI could be a bit clearer on the relationships.
