Hello,

Do we have to ability to modify the body of the notification email that goes out when a service is down/up?

Are you using the XI notification handlers, or the core ones?

I believe the core ones...how do I verify this?

So depending which one I'm using, it is possible to modify the body of the notification email?

You would modify them in different ways. If you are using the core notifications, you would edit the (%b) portion of the notification command. If you are using the XI user-based notifications, you will need to use the notification management component on the Admin page.

Do you have or know of any documentation that I could use when I'm ready to do my modification.

Also. how do I know if I'm using the XI notification handlers, or the core ones?

If your user was created using through the XI users interface (with "create as a monitoring contact" checked), then that user will have a matching CCM contact using the XI notification handlers. If you created the contact directly in the CCM (without an associated XI user), then it will be using the core handlers.

To check which handlers a contact uses, go to the alert settings tab in the CCM for the contact in question. Click on the "Manage * notification commands" buttons and see what handler is set in the right pane.
