Hello ,

We are dealing with one of the client whose requirement is to generate reports from a
syslog server .

Basically all the devices logs will be saved in the syslog server , they want to
generate the reports based on the IP address or device name from syslog server.
they want the GUI mode where they can define the time , IP and what logs they want to
see and generate it.

Can you help in what way i can help the customer for their requirement.

OR is there any third party open source tool available which can integrate with nagiosxi.

The above requirement was sent to Mike and suggested to ask you the technical Geeks...

thanks,

We do not have any application at this time that can perform this task. You could look at splunk or phplogcon among others.

Hello,

Thanks for reply,,

As client requires a tool which can integrate with nagiosxi, thus splunk, phplogcon or OSSEC integrates with NAgiosxi.

Not really. What aspect do you want to integrate? You could make use of the actions component to add a link to each nagios object details to link to the log server. Additionally, there are a number of plugins on the exchange that could check against a splunk or other syslog based server.

You will have to be more specific concerning what you want "integrated".

Hello,

You mean to say that we can add the component or some button on the dashboard which it will redirect to the pnplogcon site and from there the admin can generate the reports, is this possible?

Yes. You can use the actions component to do so. Go to Admin --> Manage Components --> Click on the Edit/tools icon for "Actions" (not action url) to access the component settings.
