Hi,
we're having a quite old nagios environment with version 2011R2.1 in place which we plan to upgrade to the latest 2012 version.
Is it possible to upgrade vom 2011 to 2012?
And if, is there a suggested way to do this or should we just follow the generell guidelines for Nagios XI-Upgrades?
Thanks!

Aside from standard suggestions of backups and such. A direct upgrade path should be just fine from that version to current.
Here is our documentation on the topic, please let us know if you run into any issues!

Thanks - so it should be possible to directly upgrade to the latest version in one step.
Is a new licence required or will the old one still work with version 2012?

The Sane license should work but you may need to reactive (not a problem with active maintenance contract)

How exactly does this reactivation work?

On the Admin -> License Information page you will just copy some information like (IP address, license # and customer ID)
Then you enter it on our website, and it will return a Activation key which you add into XI.
done. About a 10 second process
