I find host object display_name configuration directive available as the macro $HOSTDISPLAYNAME$

However, I don't find it available as a XI Notification Variable in this doc:

The closest thing is the %hostalias% variable.

Is $HOSTDISPLAYNAME$ available as a XI Notification variable?

To clarify, I should interpret your reply as an indication that it is not possible to use the display_name in an XI Notification?

Currently the only default notification macro's are listed in the document Ludmil linked. However, you could create a custom macro, and custom notification handler, I have not personally done this but it may be possible.
