Dear Team,

We have installed nagiosxi application on CentOS machine.

and we are monitoring windows / linux host machines.

In monitoring we are getting only active checks in monitoring engine status.

we already installed nrpe agent on linux and windows (NSClient++ enable nrpe)and its working fine, but we need passive check result from monitored linux /windows machines

We already set disable active check setting from host attributes. but we are unable to get passive check result in nagiosxi server (Monitoring engine status)

What protocol are you using for passive checks? I would assume NSCA, however there are also SNMP traps, WMI, and NRDS_Win. What steps have you taken with the protocol you are attempting to put in place? Simply switching off active checks will not cause passive checks to appear.

I installed NRDS and now i am getting passive checks. it is also showing in monitoring engine check statistics.

Can you please confirm one more thing, nrpe should be installed on windows/linux systems or only NRDS enough for sending passive checks form client to nagiosxi server ?

Yep. You do not need nrpe.

I installed NRDS on Linux and Winodws and its working fine without nrpe.
