Nagios Support Forum

All,
After a recent update on centos3 (I know...) nagios failed to start. The return value is 254 if daemonized with "-d". I can start nagios in foreground and config is ok. What does 254 indicate?
How can I debug the problem?
Kernel is 2.4.21-63.ELsmp and system is centos 3, as mentioned.
Nagios is 3.2.3

I think you're going to struggle to find any kind of support on anything less than CentOS 5. I'd recommend upgrading or using a newer VM for your nagios install.
