Hi,
I've imported MIBs in NagiosXI (Admin > Manage Mibs > Import Mib).
Now I want to use it but I don't know how to have access to this MIBs.
Can someone help me ?
Rgds,
Frédéric

Are you looking to use these mibs with traps, or performing snmpgets?

I would like to monitor Nortel Switchs, specially some importants ports.
What is the best way to do that ?

snmp would be your best bet. Try using our switch wizard, as it will walk the device using the default net mibs. It should find the ports and allow you to setup link and bandwidth monitoring.

I've already uploaded Mibs (Avaya) in Admin section of Nagios XI. Now I would like to use their informations but I'm a little bit lost and I don't really know how to do.
Is it possible to give me an exemple of this kind of configuration with some details ?

Could you post the mibs, and some idea of the information you would like to get from your devices? I can take a look at them and write a few commands that we can test with.

mr benhank, i hope no one has to go through the troubles you have. I have however been fighting with it at home this weekend, snmp traps are starting to make me sad.

I just get back a folder with a lot of Nortel Mibs. But I don't really know which ones I can use for switch (4000series) port monitoring.

Well, unfortunately Frederic, that's not really anything we could tell you either. You could speak with the vendor to discuss what mibs you need for getting specific information, and regarding how you would like to receive it. If you are just looking to monitor port status and speed, have you tried using the switch and router wizard? You may not need to do anything aside from that if snmp is setup correctly on the device. Otherwise if you would like to do snmp gets. You will need to know what information you are looking for and what oid that is located at. Finally if you wish to do traps, you will have to configure the device to send traps to nagios, and add mibs so that nagios can interpret them correctly. All of this depends on the information you wish to receive and how you wish to get it. I can give you general ideas, but I cannot speak on how to monitor specific models or manufacturers. That is something that you need to work out, possibly with the vendors help.
