I'll happily embrace anyone who wants to help out, so long as they
don't make me work a lot more to help them help me. Bug-reports, patches
and feature-suggestions require a lot of information before they're
any good. While I fully expect bug-reports to sometimes be sketchy
rather than detailed, I also fully expect anyone eager to assist to
seek out the developers and to find the right channels for doing so.
For Nagios, developers have *always* lived on this email list, and
that's hardly a secret.

I (really) don't have time to sit on irc all day long, so the only
halfway reliable (and therefore sensible) way of contacting me is
through email. I know for a fact that most, if not all, of the other
developers share this thought with me. If there's something specific
you want to discuss that requires fast-paced communication, I'll
happily set a date and time where I can go online on irc so we can
talk about it, but I'll never monitor an irc channel on a "just in
case" basis.

I wish them the best of luck. After all, everything good they do
will get incorporated into Nagios (and vice versa, I assume), so
if they're successful so will Nagios be. However, I seriously
doubt you'll find Icinga developers being *active* on irc all the
time. They're just as busy as we are.

Considering the successes of the wars on alcohol, poverty, drugs and
terror, I think we should give some serious thought to declaring war
on peace.
