Monitoring VMware ESX / VSphere Hosts

I am trying to monitor VMware hosts as per the instructions in the "monitoring vmware" document.

I have installed the Nagios Plugins Perl Library on the Nagios server.
I have also installed the VMware Perl SDK on the Nagios server as per the instructions.

I downloaded various checks from the Nagios Exchange and I get "no output returned from host" on all my checks.

Obviously some piece missing. Is there a component not shown in the documentation that is needed on the ESX side or something?

Any help would be appreciated!

Happy Holidays all!

It's been a while since I worked with the VMware stuff, so bear with me while I try to remember the possible issues. One thing I can think of is I believe it only worked if the ESX server allowed connections through HTTP, although often they are configured to be HTTPS-only - could that be your issue?

Run one of the checks that is failing in the command line and show us the check and the output.
