[Nagios-devel] Nagios processes - Nagios-devel digest, Vol 1
Posted: Thu Nov 14, 2002 9:02 am
Dear Ian,
The release init script contains a bug (a missing underscore). This
problem has been fixed in the CVS release which I'm currently running.
When I run nagios alright, the problem occurs only if I change some
setting from the web interface. I'll have to do some testing to see what
exactly caused the problem - don't remember anymore.
Greetings
Daniel

Daniel/Russell,
Do you have this problem from a clean start of Nagios or only when you
reload to make changes effective? A problem that I have seen in the past
is that Nagios fails to completely shutdown when you do a restart using
the init script.
You end up with two copies running, hence the process frenzy.
I tend to stop Nagios using the init script and wait for all instances
to die before starting again.
I'd be interested to know if this is the problem you are seeing.
Regards, Ian.
