[Nagios-devel] Question about service and contactgroups for authenticated user

Hi Devel-List:

I=B4ve tryied to have an answer for my doubt in Nagios Users, but had no
success. Also have contacted some people on that lists, who knows a lot
about Nagios, and they suggested me to post the problem here, because =
they
have the same behavior in their systems.

Scenario
1) Services in a HP-UX host, which runs a database.=20
2) Some services have UNIX-admins as contactgroups, others DB-Admins, =
and
other both.=20
3) When these authenticated users goes to "Service Detail" everything is
fine.
4) But some of them prefer to use "Status Overview" or "Status Summary".
5) As these "vision" shows hosts, we have created 2 hostgroups: UNIX =
Servers
and DB Servers, and configured the contactgroups as required.=20
6) From this moment, the authenticated user can see "all" services of a =
host
in that hostgroup, no matter it has authorization or not (as defined in
services.cfg).

Questions:
A) Am I doing some stupidity?
B) (If not) Is this Nagios correct behavior?=20
C) (If yes) Is something that will change in the future?=20

I believe that even if you put someone as contactgroup of a hostgroup, =
it
has not the right to see all services, if it is not configured in a
contactgroup in a particular service.

Thanks for your time,

Sandro Vaz
