Nagios and DISA

My Company is undergoing a DISA review, and it raises a number of questions about Nagios. Things like:
1. Are there any race conditions in the software?
2. Are there any parts of the software that are not executed?
3. Are there any canonical representation vulnerabilities?
Has anyone else run into this? Are there any "known" answers?
