Nagios reports 2 processes

Nagios Server reports - PROCS CRITICAL: 2 processes with args (using NRPE)
But when I run the NRPE command locally on the remote system it shows ONLY 1 process.
NRPE Command: check_procs -w 1:1 -c 1:1 -a <ProcessName>
The above problem started happenning recently and I even upgraded nagios from 3.03 to 3.2 but has the same result. Has anyone faced this issue before? any help to fix this is appreciated.
