Failing checks because of backups

I am seeing several of my windows servers failing their checks
My first assumption is that this is happening because the nightly backups are running and taking all the resources/bandwidth.
If this is the case, how can I stop Nagios from reporting on this failure during the backup time on window servers only? Or is that not possible?

PROBLEM: CheckConsoleuser is UNKNOWN on host XXXXX.
Info:The check didnt respond within the timeout period!
