Hi Nagios team,

I've recently installed nagios on linux mint 7, its working thanks to all the documentation.
Do you have any recommendation (hardware specs) for 500+ network elements?It will only do ping tests

You shouldn't need a terribly powerful machine for only 500 checks running a ping test. We don't really have a table or benchmark for this since it's dependent on network speeds, what checks are being run, etc. You *should* be able to run that on an ordinary desktop with a gig of RAM. (This is assuming you're only running host checks, and not multiple service checks for 500 hosts, that will take more power). Hope that helps.
