Could you please inform me on how to create a ticket with Nagios, so that they would directly involve in the case.

Thanks & Regards
Jeff

In what way may we assist you?

Thanks!

Well then what are the 10 tickets that we are privileged for when we bought the support :?

well here is what the problem is.
We have enabled reverse proxy on our network to access the Nagios interface from the web.
we do get the login page and also successfully able to login to get access.

But the problem is nothing loads up, the images do not get displayed.

The only thing that is displayed are the tabs on the left hand side of the screen eg. Details , host detail and all the others.
But not able to access them.

Is there something that am missing out here?

Thanks & Regards
Jeff

Hello Jeff,
as to the first bit, the 10 tickets would be priority support via email and us getting "hands on" with an RDP session if required and possibly phone as well, sorry about the confusion there.

Also, could you tell us:

1. Linux Distribution and version?
2. 32 or 64bit?
3. VMware Image or Manual Install of XI?
4. Are there specials configurations on your system, ie; is Gnome installed? Are you using SSL?
5. What browser are you using? (FIrefox, Chrome, IE, etc)

Also, could you confirm whether things are working fine when on the local network, and this is just limited to external access?

Hey thanks for replying.

Well i think it would be better if this case could be made as a priority support.
I would like to use one out of the ten tickets that we are privileged for.
We need this to get working as our manager needs to access the Nagios Interface from the web when he is not in office.

Answering to the questions that you had asked.

We had installed the VM image from the Nagios website.
1. Linux Distribution and version?
We had installed the VM image from the Nagios website so not sure of the Linux Distribution and VM image
2. 32 or 64bit?
32 bit
3. VMware Image or Manual Install of XI?
VMware image
4. Are there specials configurations on your system, ie; is Gnome installed? Are you using SSL?
No Special configuration and we are not using SSL

5. What browser are you using? (FIrefox, Chrome, IE, etc)
Using Firefox but tried with IE as well

The Nagios XI works absolutely fine on the network.
Only when accessed from out side the LAN is when we are facing the issue.

Our main goal is to access the Nagios with a public ip so that people can access it when they are not in office.

THanks & regards
Jeff

hi,
was playing around with the reverse proxy server, and i believe we have got things to work now.
am able to access the nagiosxi page from the web with images being displayed properly.

Will keep you posted if i need any help on the same again.

But please do let me know the correct process to raise a Ticket so if needed Support can connect remotely to work with the issue.

Thanks for your time and help

Regards
Jeff

Great to hear it working Jeff :-)

If you care to share how it was resolved we would appreciate it so we can pass the information on to others. We love input!

We generally try to answer the forums within 24 hours on work days and the same with mail. If you make an email stating it is a priority and you would like to use one of your 10 allotted "privileged tickets" than this will be a very high priority with us. This would be [email protected]

Thanks!

Hey,

Well there was some setting that was done on the apache server ( used to configure reverse proxy) which made it working.

Now related to the same issue.

Nagiosxi works absolutely fine on port 80 externally.
Now when i try to change the port to access it by port 8000 ( or any other port), the images don't load up.but the login screen comes up and am able to login.
But suprisingly if i change the path from http://nagios.qatarsteel.com.qa/nagiosxi/ to http://nagios.qatarsteel.com.qa/nagios/ the image works fine ..............
Have no clue over here about this

Any one has any idea or clue on this?

thanks & Regards
Jeff

Just thought we should note that we don't officially support proxy installs because it can break both the installation and the normal running processes of NagiosXI. Here are some notes we've gathered from users who have needed to set one up anyway, not sure if they will help.

http://support.nagios.com/wiki/index.ph ... n_Problems

The url http://<yourserver>/nagios is the Nagios Core URL that is accessible underneath your XI install.
