Hi,
We would like to introduce to you a new Centreon project.
The Centreon team wishes to propose an evolution of the Nagios engine under
the name Centreon Engine.
Indeed, a number of elements such as some slow down in the Nagios
development since several years, the absence of concrete evolutions and the
impossibility for our team to actively contribute to the project, brought us
to propose our own evolution of the Nagios engine.
We wish that this base could be in line with the market expectations and its
users.
The Centreon Engine 0.9 version integrates a large number of patches
available on the Nagios tracker.
The next version will bring significant functional changes on the core part
such as the configuration change on the fly, web service integration,
reduction of the I/O for the virtualized environments ...
We hope that our developments could be implemented in Nagios when Ethan
decides to take into account the opinions of the community.
Starting from 2.2 version Centreon can handle multiple scheduling engines
such as Centreon Engine, Icinga, Nagios and Shinken.
Thank you for welcoming this new project that we hope will benefit to all of
you.
The Centreon Team.
