As far as #5, mirroring a server data off the status.log, I was just
thinking about that today - completely independent of your note. That
would be a great thing for me.

Well, I for one raise my right arm an say 'Aye!' to that one.. I have been
struggling at present trying to find a way to achieve exactly as mentioned
here.. I have a central Nagios system monitoring the internal servers
here, but have been looking at a way to provide this as an ad-hoc service
to our customers, but I *DONT* want to maintain a huge central NAGIOS for
them all...
My alternative was to provide a 'BigBrother' (is that a dirty word in
here?!?!?
) style 'summary' to a parent NAGIOS server.. so whilst the
exact state information in real time may not be available, at least I can
track alerts and other critical information without having to monitor it
from a central server...
Essentially, there is an additional 'alert' group, being a central server,
that can capture the alerts as generated by the 'slave' NAGIOS and then
display them on the central NAGIOS status page.
Ahh well, it all makes sense in my head anyway...
But this is something I too would definately be interested in seeing...
