Applying Upgrade to Nagios XI

We are looking into upgrading our Nagios XI. Presently, it is on Nagos XI 2009R1.3G. Do you know of any issue that we might encounter before we updgrade? We are trying to prevent loss of data and redoing Nagios XI gain. What do you recommend to apply this upgrade properly?

Also, if running a VM, doing a "snapshot" can be a nice way to roll back if things go wrong. Please feel free to post here if you have any additional questions or concerns and we will be happy to help
