Nagios Support Forum

Is anyone aware of the reason Nagios was not built to perform threshold
evaluation for the stats it receives? Instead of relying on generation of a
state before receiving statistics, it could have performed these
calculations itself. I figure this has something to do with performance but
I was wondering if this was ever a proposed change or idea.
