[Nagios-devel] Java version of NRPE

Has anyone thought about porting NRPE to run in Java ?
I would like to execute Remote Plugins on an iSeries running os400.
In order to do this I would either need to hack away at the C code, or
re-write it in java.
Since my C and os400 knowledge is limited, I am leaning towards
writing it in java.
Would anyone like to offer their thoughts ?
