plugins missing?

Hello,
I've installed my first copy of Nagios. I'm doing an evaluation for our project. I did the basic install from http://nagios.sourceforge.net/docs/3_0/ ... edora.html
Everythig seemed to go smoothly. I did not install any extra stuff, just the file "nagios-3.2.3.tar.gz". When I go to the web page I see that much is down when its not. It does say that the plugin may be missing. Is there a basic set of plugins that need to be installed as well that do not come with the core? Exmaple of whats down localhost is down, I can ping it. Services such as CurrentLoad, CurrentUser, HTTP, ping, root partition, ssh, swap Usage, total Process. They are all down and critical. I'm guessing there is a set of basic plugins that need to be installed so that Nagios can monitor those services.
Thank you
thllgo
