I have read all of the posts on the issues when installing the WMware Monitoring Wizard and the SDK; however, I'm having a sightly different issue. Mine works and then it will stop and I will get the same message, "Error - It appears as though the VMware SDK has not yet been installed on your Nagios XI server. You must install the SDK before you are able to use this wizard."

When I first installed it, I was able to create a service for one guest VM, and then when I went to do the second one, I received this error I listed above. I did not mess with it any further on Friday. When I came back in today, Monday, I launched the wizard and it was working. I closed it out so I could get the information that I needed so I could create a new service, and then I received the error message again.

What would cause it to work and not work within a matter of seconds?

Do you know what version of the SDK you installed? The tarball should still be in your /tmp directory unless you removed it.

I used VMware-vSphere-Perl-SDK-5.5.0-1292267.x86_64.tar.gz

Did you follow this document? Can you show one of the failing checks, ran from the command line, along with the output of it?

I was running it from the web interface when I receive the error message. I'm using Nagios XI 2012R2.0. I installed it using the document that you linked to me. I do not know how to show you one of the failing checks, ran from the command line. Sorry, I'm a newbie. Could you give me the command lines that you would like for me to run? I could then post the output for you. I'm only getting the error on and off. Today, I have been able to create 2 new guest VMs services. It appears to be working now for some reason. Very strange.

Hmm how strange... Can you navigate to CCM > Services > Click the blue diskette icon next to the service name of one of the checks that has failed, and send us the text output

I can't do that because it fails before it is created. Once they are created, they continue to work properly. The wizard was working properly earlier today, but now it has stopped again. I have uploaded an attachment of the error that I'm getting when I do the wizard. I'm thinking that it may be a networking issue.

And I just checked it again and its working! It's only been a couple of minutes in between the checking. (I removed the computer info)

I know that we have seen this a couple times, although not necessarily found a definitive answer. I am wondering in this case if it might actually be more related to the remove vmware host or the network connection to it. Just to check, please run the command below and reply with the results.
