Basic need for host adding

With only IP address it's possible to add host in nagios core or IP address + Host Name ?
I'm not sure what you mean by this? Are you asking if you can name the host in addition to using the IP address? If so yes, in the objects documentation this is shown:

Use the host_name definition.
