Configuring NSCA client server side

Hello,

This is the first time that I'm monitoring windows hosts. Having trouble setting up the NSCA client variables server side...

First off, I'm having issues getting the host (ubuntu) to listen on port 5667. For testing purposes i've used netcat to temp open up the port. I've gone down the path of tuning UFW to allow 5667 but, I can't get it to permanently listen to that port.

Any tutorial that someone could pass on or quick tips would be MOST appreciated.

Thanks ahead of time.

Hmm, this seems like more of a distro question rather than NSCA specifically "as of right now." I don't know of any specific guides on opening ports locally besides the mentioning of iptables in some tutorials. There is an in-depth guide here:

http://www.packtpub.com/sites/default/f ... d-nsca.pdf

But they do not go into the specifics of port forwarding with what you are using.
