Full Installer Failure

Hi,
I'm fairly new to Red Hat and Nagios but I managed to get this working perfectly on a local CentOS VM. I'm now trying to evaluate on a corporate Red Hat VM -
What version of Nagios XI are you using? -
Latest?? No version information in tar.gz filename.
Linux Distribution and version?
Red Hat Enterprise Server release 6.4 (Santiago)
32 or 64bit?
64bit
VMware Image or Manual Install of XI?
Manual, I guess. Don't really understnd the question. The install comes from - http://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nagi ... est.tar.gz
Are there special configurations on your system, ie; is Gnome installed? Are you using a proxy? Are you using SSL?
Nothing additional
The instance of RH is registered on RHN.
When running the ./fullinstall wrapper script, the yum config seems to fail -

The script that failed was: './0-yum'
So, after checking support docs, I was suggested to do this -
Code: Select all
yum install yum-utils
yum-config-manager --enable rhel-6-server-optional-rpms
Which gives -

Loaded plugins: product-id, rhnplugin
This system is receiving updates from RHN Classic or RHN Satellite.
This makes no difference to anything. The exact same thing happens when I try to run the wrapper script.
Any help would be appreciated.

That doesn't seem to be the entire log, do you have a larger install log in the nagiosxi installation directory?

This is interesting...
The system is definitely registered... I watched our lead sys admin do it as he was doing it.
Like I said... I tried

yum-config-manager --enable rhel-6-server-optional-rpms
and this didn't change anything. The output was

Enabling the optional repo is not the same as registering your RHEL installation. Please add the Optional channel using RHN and I think this will alleviate the problems.

Understood... Like I said though, the installation is registered with RHN.
Are you saying that rather than using

yum-config-manager --enable rhel-6-server-optional-rpms
on the box itself, that this channel should be, instead, added via RHN?

To the best of my knowledge, you must explicitly enable the repo in RHN, and that command simply tells the local yum to use it, but if its not enabled in your RHN subscription, it won't work. I however, am not a RHEL expert.
