need help removing old / hidden commands

Hi All,
I've just discovered that my nagios machine root account is receiving emails from the CRON service every 5 minutes about snmp failures for an old machine which hasn't been around for ages and I can't find in the configuration anywhere.
The mail message, addressed to root, is from Cron <root@nagios>. It states there has been an SNMP error in /usr/bin/mrtg /etc/mrtg/mrtg.cfg <etc> and talks about an ip address x.x.x.44 which no longer exists, and hasn't for a while. (these error messages have been coming for a while too).
How do I find where these are in the configuration and remove them?
Thanks in advance.
Cheers,
Chris.
