You can and how deep that integration goes is up to you... that is to say the majority of the leg work you will be doing yourself. There is no single document I can think of that fully describes this rabbit hole.

The first two parts of a series I wrote about managing scalable Nagios describes apache AD auth and using Nagios contact configuration for RBAC.
pt1. http://roshamboot.org/main/presentation ... rmissions/
pt2. http://roshamboot.org/main/presentation ... -contacts/

I would recommend reading pt 3. and 4. for a full understanding of the setup I'm describing. I also wrote an article aimed at Nagios XI users about automating the synchronization of AD user to Nagios contact using a templating script:

http://roshamboot.org/main/tighter-adld ... tegration/

While this is aimed at Nagios XI users... you can just use the parts specifically related to Nagios Core. Outside of my own work there are plugins and other tutorials that describe different methods of AD integration:

http://exchange.nagios.org/directory/Ad ... on/details
http://xavier.dusart.free.fr/nagios/en/kerberos.html
http://telinit0.blogspot.com.au/2009/09 ... n-for.html

You just need to decide which method is best for you and how deeply you want that integration to run.
