Hi All
Nagios XI 2011R3.3
NagiosQL 3.0.3
OS=Red Hat 6.3 64bit

After reading this http://support.nagios.com/wiki/index.ph ... e_Services and this http://support.nagios.com/forum/viewtop ... =16&t=4067 i am still not able to resolve.

I have 4 host with name HOST{1,2,3,4}

HOST{1,2} have service name process20 and also HOST{3,4} have service name process20.

Now i have deleted process20 for HOST{1,2}from CCM but it is still showing in NagiosXI with critical state.

i have checked file in /usr/local/nagios/etc/services/ but i can not see that service with the name mention above in HOST{1,2}

Also i have checked with host groups and service groups but still no luck.

thanks...

When you apply configuration in the CCM do you get an error?

No i don't get any error also i have added other services(for testing whether service gets added or not) to host{1,2} which normally updates /usr/local/nagios/etc/services/<hostname> file successfully.

From Browser when i click on Service Name and Navigate to Configure Tab and select Delete this Services i got below error

Could not find a unique id for this service
Service cannot be deleted using this method

One or more errors were detected that prevent the service from being deleted.

Possible causes include...

The service is associated with other hosts, services, or objects that need to be deleted first
The service is generated by an advanced monitoring configuration entry
The service is maintained in a static or external configuration file

To resolve this issue...

Use the Nagios Core Configuration Manager to delete the service - or -
Manually delete the service definition from the appropriate external configuration file

i have killed nagios process as followed in link 1 (support link mention) but no luck

You must remove this service from it's dependencies first, to find the dependencies click on the (!) icon next to the object's name in the CCM.

I browsed CCM --> Services --search for process20 it shows me 2 Service Name which are for host{3,4} not for host{1,2} whereas in GUI it is in critical state for host{1,2}.

So how do i see dependency first if i cannot see services name itself.

Also is there any function of NagiosXI in which one can add 1 services for multiple host instead of adding same services for any number of hosts

for example: there are 20 servers and all server has common service say explorer.exe OR sshd which we want to monitor.

Can you show us the config file for this service? (you can alter the sensitive info)

Can you PM me your profile.zip please? Go to Admin -> System Profile -> Download Profile.

I meant you can remove the sensitive information out of the config, such as IP addresses, passwords, etc.

The tmcdonald's suggestion is even better - you can PM to any of us the profile.zip. This way you don't have to post your configs, and profile.zip contains lots of debug info, that would help us troubleshoot the issue faster.

Looks like you have an older version of the profile component. Can you go to Admin -> Manage Components and check for updates? The System Profile component should have an update available. Update that then PM the full profile.zip, as opposed to the profile.txt that your current version provides.
