Hi all,
I'm reading about the new design in Nagios 4 based on workers.
Is possible to deploy the workers in several servers. I mean, I would like to know if it is possible to run the nagios core in one server and configure several workers that run each of them in different servers.
Thanks,
David

Re: workers in Nagios 4
So you want to have a central Nagios server with several "satellite" nodes feeding information to that central server?

Hi tmcdonald,
Yes, this could be a good solution for large installation without installing different software (like mod-gearman). Only deploying different workers as a collectors to send the report to the central nagios process; this would be transparent to the user.
The good thing with this architecture is that it can grow horizontally only adding more "worker" servers.

Remote core workers are not available yet.

For your response, I assume that is in the roadmap, isn't it?
Re: workers in Nagios 4
Definitely. Unfortunately, I don't have an ETA on that.
