Hi Nagios Support,

I would like to seek your assistance in upgrading our Nagios 4.0.1 to Nagios XI.

Here are the steps that I have done so far.
• Uninstall Nagios 4.0.1 (Based on what I have read we need a clean install for Nagios XI)
• Install Nagios XI using the following commands below
cd /tmp
rm -rf nagiosxi
tar zxf xi-latest.tar.gz
cd nagiosxi
./fullinstall
• Hit this installation error.

INSTALLATION ERROR!
===================
Installation step failed - exiting.
Check for error messages in the install log (install.log).

If you require assistance in resolving the issue, please include install.log
in your communications with Nagios XI technical support.

The script that failed was: './0-yum'

Attached is the install.log and install.log.syslog.

Additional Information you might need.
Nagios version Nagios XI
Linux Distribution and version? ubuntu v 1.5.2
32 or 64bit? 32 bit
VMware Image or Manual Install of XI? Manual Install of XI
Are there special configurations on your system, ie; is Gnome installed? Are you using a proxy? Are you using SSL? SSL

Nagios XI can only be installed on CentOS or RHEL systems.

I have double check the Linux Distribution and version?

This is what you have posted in your original message:

That is likely what Scott was referring to. That is not the full install.log, can you attach it?

We are using RHEL not ubuntu. Please see below the details of our Linux Distribution and version.
Distributor ID: RedHatEnterpriseServer
Description: Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 6.4 (Santiago)
Release: 6.4
Codename: Santiago

I tried running this command
yum-config-manager --enable rhel-6-server-optional-rpms
delete all components of Nagios XI and install it again. Same error encountered, please see attached install.log.

Again, the second install.log file is incomplete. What was the path to this install.log file?

Here are the following install.log present in our server

/root/install.log
/root/install.log.syslog
/var/opt/OV/log/oainstall.log
/tmp/nagiosxi/install.log

the one I gave you is the /root/install.log

Can you upload the "/tmp/nagiosxi/install.log"?

Try adding the "Optional" channel by following the steps, outlined on our wiki page:

Note: If you were not able to do it from the CLI, try adding the Optional Channel in the GUI.
