Nagios Core reporting

Working for CSUCI university as a student worker one of my projects was to come up with a solution for server monitoring in real time. Nagios gave me that solution, but now the server guys need reports for their bosses on what services are down and for how long. My question is is there a plugin that I may be able to use that will give me reports of up-time, downtime, total hosts (depending on group dependency). At this point any starting information will be greatly helpful.

Have you taken a look at the reporting functionality within core? I believe the availability reports should do exactly what you are looking for no?

Well we have it fine tune to where we get e-mail alerts if any system fail including UPS that we have in each networking closet. The problem is being able to create a hard copy report so the managers see the any uptime, downtime of all our servers. In our IT department we can see the Nagios web interface and see real time. Hope this answers your question.

Sorry, I didn't see the Availability Report. I'm playing with it and it looks great. Question: How can I export the reports into a file format so I can import it into Excel or other format. Also, is there any other plugins that will give me other options for the Availability Report? Thanks.

The availability report is under Reports > Availability. As far as exporting, I believe there may be some custom script for this however it is a standard feature of Nagios XI.

Ok, do you recommend any plugins that may be able to export the reports? Unfortunate we don't have the Nagios XI.
