System Crash ... no recent backups

I have a NagiosXI installation that has crashed and the repair scripts fail. I have valid configuration backups from Core config manager but I do not have any good nagios scripted backups after 2 months ago. If I perform the scripted restore using the two month old backup and then copy/overwrite the install with the /usr/local/nagios/etc configs that I do have from last week, will that "work"? I have made a ton of clean-up changes to our system but hadn't noticed that the cron that is supposed to run the nagios backup script was not properly setup. I'm hoping to avoid re-doing 2 months worth of work (probably about 10 hours) in a service and host overhaul ...

You do not have any full backups? In the vain of: http://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nagi ... ing_XI.pdf

At least you still have your configuration files, you will be able to import them back into your new XI server. What exactly do you mean by the XI server crashed? Was this a hardware level failure? What is not functioning?

Correct I do not have a good full backup beyond September 30th. There was a VM failure where the datastore and host for Nagios went offline for whatever reason and it killed the Nagios machine. I was able to spin the machine up and I have a config file from last week but an old full backup from two months ago.

Are you able to attach the virtual disk to another guest and get data off of it, or is it entirely unreadable? At the absolute worst, we could likely get items mounted into the correct locations for mysql and such to do a proper backup. Then restore to a new vm\nagios instance.
