I am using Nagios XI version 2012R2.7 deployed from a VMWare image. We have a large deployment of 582 hosts and 18053 services, and applying an updated configuration takes forever. I updated to the most recent version of Nagios XI using this process at http://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nagi ... ctions.pdf, but nagios core remains at version 3.5.0. I saw in the release notes that version 4.0 has a new algorithm for the verification that runs in O(n) time instead of O(n^2): http://labs.nagios.com/2013/09/20/nagio ... available/

How can I integrate this fix into my XI version? Will you support my upgrading core to version 4.0, or do I need to wait until its incorporated into http://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nagi ... est.tar.gz?

Sorry at this time we will not support any upgrades to core 4 due to multiple reasons with core and ndoutils. I can however promise that it is coming very very soon. We have been testing internally for some time and it shouldn't be long now. I know this isn't exactly what you wanted to hear, but its certainly better than sometime this summer.
