nrpe - Client request was invalid, bailing out

I have nagios agents installed on 5 linux servers all have the same cfg file but only #1 working. I'm seeing the following in /var/log/messages
Error: Request contained command arguments!
Client request was invalid, bailing out..
The following is set
dont_blame_nrpe=1
tried --> dont_blame_nrpe=1Execute check_nrpe with command arguments
Same error
Web interface shows
CHECK_NRPE: Received 0 bytes from daemon. Check the remote server logs for error messages
