We recently installed the latest version of Nagios XI. But when trying to use wizard SSH Proxy noted that not installed on the server check_by_ssh Plugin. This type of monitoring has been discontinued? Also try the agent but have error when trying to install on a Ubuntun server

Check_by_ssh is still a very valid way to monitor, you should have the check_by_ssh plugin in:
It is provided by default on all installations.

Nagios XI ships with check_by_ssh. It is run from the XI server, not the remote host. Lets check if the plugin exists:

No such file or directory on Nagios Server

Did you change the default install paths when you installed nagiosxi? /usr/local/nagios/libexec should most definitely exist as it is created and populated by the XI installer.

No changes were made. The others plugins are in the directory.

About the agent, does not find the package for installation

# apt-get install nagios-agent

Yes I understood everything. check_by_ssh is not present in Nagios (Centos) server. And I looked at another installation I have here and also didn't found the plugin.

Fair enough, just had to check. Could you post a full listing of libexec on the XI server?
