Hi Team,

After upgrading from 2012R2.7 to 2012R2.8c,

I have issue with user contact not created with user.

When i am trying to create user with "Create as Monitoring Contact" this, user is created but when i checking in CCM contact not available.
is this a bug, because i was not finding this issue in my earlier version NagiosXI-2012R2.7

It is working fine for me on 2012 2.8c, this may be a symptom of the ongoing issues with your Xi installation that abrist is working on with your team via tickets. Did you notice any errors when creating the user? Can they log into the web interface?

YES i am able to log in with newly created user, and i am not getting any user. In contact its showing "apply configuration for new changes to take effect". And i applied 3-4 times but same red colour message appeared constantly.

How long is it taking for you to apply configuration, by what your team has been reporting via tickets it takes hours for you to do this, are you sure you actually let it apply configuration? Keep in mind, you can't just start an apply configuration and leave the page, I hope this is not what you have been doing. Also make sure nobody else on your team is applying configuration at the same time, this will cause a lot of I/O wait on your offloaded DB.

We are applying configuration, its not done in frontend, its done in background. We applying configuration and waiting for completion, but its getting stuck due to that its taking hours and hours, even it is not completed and show message in browser.

We are checking in background whatever changes we have done in CCM files contained.
suppose we added hosts, it is taking 15-20 min and coming in /usr/local/nagios/etc/hosts folder and service configuration file in /usr/local/nagios/etc/services folder.

Ok, now as you are saying that its required apply configuration but when we create user with "Create as Monitoring Contact:" it should come in contacts without apply configuration. But in my case its not happening.......

When we are creating user with "Create as Monitoring Contact:" it coming in CCM contact list without applying configuration in other testing machine.

The deal here is that the link is created in the database, in your case this database is already under extreme load due to the issues you have been having applying configuration, it is possible that it is not being applied due to this. This may not be the issue at all, I just wanted to note that here.

Thank you very much, you were absolutely right. We have resolved this issue, we have offloaded db and we have some configuration files for offloaded database, we checked from nagiosxi support they mention file contained localhost in place of mysql ip address. I have moved dump nagiosql from nagiosxi to offloaded mysql db, and repaired one crashed table. Now all users i can see in contacts.
